Application to Take the Exam

The Application to Take the Bar Examination for Admission requests the following information (you need an account to open this page)

  1. Applicant’s Supplemental Character Questionnaire, typed and properly executed
    • This is form #6 on the Bar Admissions website.
    • It must be notarized. DO NOT sign before you meet with the notary.
    • Jennifer Hines in the Academic Services Office can notarize bar application forms between the hours of 9:00a.m - 2:00 p.m.  SaraJean Petite in the Law Library is also a notary.
  2. Properly executed Applicant’s Affidavit
    • This is form #11 on the Bar Admissions website.
    • It must be notarized. DO NOT sign before you meet with the notary.
  3. a Law School Character Certificate
    • This is form #12 on the Bar Admissions website.
    • Complete the shaded areas and deliver the unsigned form to the Academic Services Offices for Certification. 
    • Allow three business days for Academic Services to complete and return the form to you. (See Jay Ruffner's e-mail for the processing schedule.)
    • Academic Services will return the form to your mail folder.  (They reserve the right to send the certificate directly to the Supreme Court. If they do this, they will notify you that they are doing it.)
  4. If applicable, form 7C, Petition, and supplemental documentation
  5. If you are requesting a disability accommodation, this is where and when you will request it.

The Academic Services Office needs:

  1. Final Law School Certificate
    • This is form #13 on the Bar Admissions website.
    • The Law School certifies this form and mails it to the Ohio Supreme Court immediately after you graduate.
    • Type your name on the form, print it, and submit it to the Academic Services Office
