A comprehensive course in the law of evidence as applied in civil and criminal cases. Subjects include relevance, hearsay, judicial notice, privileges, examination of witnesses, expert and lay opinion testimony, and real, demonstrative, and scientific evidence. This course deals with both the practical applications and theoretical underpinnings of the Federal Rules of Evidence and common law precedents.
Prof. Andrew Pollis is Professor of Law and Director of the Appellate Litigation Clinic in the Milton A. Kramer Law Clinic Center at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Pollis is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as an appellate-law specialist. He lectures frequently on appellate-law issues and co-authored (with Judge Mark Painter) the last six editions of Ohio Appellate Practice (Thomson/West).
