Law Library Essentials

Circulation Desk

Stop by the Law Library Circulation Desk to learn about key library services:

  • Course Reserves:
Reserves are course materials available at the circulation desk for students to use for up to two hours. Reserve items are not renewable and accrue fines of one dollar for every hour overdue.
  • Library Record & Renewing:
View your library record to view holds, renew materials, and track your reading history. You may renew your materials as long as there are no “library holds” placed on them and as long as you owe no excessive library fines.  Also, appropriate items will need to be within seven days of their due dates to be successfully renewed.
  • Reserving a Study Room:
Reserve any one of the eight group study rooms located on the third floor of the Law Library.  These rooms are available for use by current Case Law students only.  Groups of two or more may reserve a room up to two days in advance.  A maximum of three hours (in one or more blocks) can be reserved on any given day. All rooms are equipped with technology to enhance group collaboration. You may also book rooms by using the room scheduler tablets located outside each study room.
  • Gadgets & Technology:  We lend things you need! The law library circulates phone and MacBook chargers, standing desks, headphones and many other amenities.
  • Food & Drink Policy:  Small, vending style snack food and non-alcoholic beverages in spill-proof containers with tight fitting lids, are permitted in the library with the exception of the computer labs.
