Justice and the Literary Imagination (USSY 293V)

This is a guide to support students in this class, especially with researching their papers with specialized databases and resources.

Research Resources

CWRU (non-law) students may use LexisUni or Google Scholar to research court opinions (case law) and legal periodicals. Law review articles are also available on HeinOnline, Legal Collection, and Index to Legal Periodicals and Books (ILP).

Legal Collection and ILP provide topical access to articles from approximately 1,000 legal journals. Academic Search Premier indexes several hundred additional scholarly journals, often with full-text availability, as well. These three indexes, which may be searched simultaneously via OhioLINK research databases (Ebscohost) should provide relevant resources related to most, if not all, "law and movie" topics. OhioLINK's Electronic Journal Center is another option for accessing multi-disciplinary journal articles.

For articles about a specific movie, use Art Full Text and Film & Television Index. A Summons search may work, as well, for a particular movie title.

SSRN is yet another possible source for full-text articles about movies or legal topics related to movies.
