Taskbars

Taskbars for Dual Monitors

Congratulations on having dual monitors.  They’re fun right?!  One of the wonderful new features of Windows 10 is the ability to have different task bars on different monitors.  To change the settings, Right Click on the taskbar and select Properties

There is an option at the bottom to set various options for multiple displays.  If you want to show a task bar on both displays, select Show taskbar on all displays

Once that is selected you can decide how taskbar buttons show.

  • All taskbars:  the buttons for all of your open windows will show on all taskbars on each display.
  • Main taskbar and taskbar where window is open:  this setting shows a button on the taskbar on your main display and also only on the taskbar on the display where the window is open.
  • Taskbar where window is open:  This setting only shows a button on the taskbar on the display where the window is open. Apps pinned to the taskbar will always have their buttons show on the main taskbar.
